“Be who you are.

Walk your own path.

Take a brave step”

 Who are you?

“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken”

- Oscar Wilde

You want to be true to yourself. You probably get a strong sense of wellbeing when you feel you can be honest, open and real with loved ones, friends and work colleagues.  And it’s uncomfortable to behave in ways which don’t feel authentic. But perhaps you feel you have to put on a mask to be accepted or to fit in. And perhaps you have done this so often that you have started to wonder who you really are.

For me, I started to feel as though I was living someone else’s life.  This set me on a journey to self discovery, a shift in career and a move across continents.  But don’t worry, your own path might not be quite so dramatic - unless you want it to!

I will work with you to be much more consciously aware of your true self.  We will explore your values, your strengths and some of the more subtle themes of your personality.  I will support you as you take steps to become more fully who you are and as you liberate yourself from people-pleasing.

 Where are you going?

“Knowing where you are going is the first step to getting there”

- Ken Blanchard

The Buddha said that our purpose in life is to find our purpose in life and to give our whole heart and soul to it.  Sounds so simple. Yet so many of us realise that we are just going through the motions of life without really feeling alive. We question where we are going and why. I certainly did when my world was turned upside down by a life-threatening illness, intimate betrayal and the sudden death of my brother.

I think there are particular points in life when questions about our purpose are more likely to come up.  Does one of these describe you?

  • You are mid-career and proud of your achievements so far but increasingly feel this is not what you want to do for the rest of your life

  • You are about to retire, but know you still have so much more to offer

  • You are taking stock of your life and wondering what your legacy is going to be

  • You are fresh out of school or college and determined to choose a life path that will use your talents and that you can commit to with all your heart

  • You have experienced a major life event, such as an illness or loss. This has stopped you in your tracks and you find yourself reassessing your priorities

I will work with you to look at what is driving your search for purpose and direction.  We will explore your deep motivations, your strengths and talents and the vast possibilities ahead. I will support you to find the meeting point between who you are and what you offer and what the world needs.

 Find your brave

“Start now. Start where you are”

- Ijeoma Umebinyuo

Sometimes, even if we know what we want, we see so many barriers in the way that we do nothing.  Fear holds us back.  I’ll confess, it look me about 10 years of excuses before I finally took the plunge, got qualified and started life coaching. So I know how hard it can be.  I have been there.  And I also know the joy and liberation of finally being on the right path.

I can’t make the fear go away. I can’t make the hurdles suddenly disappear.  What I will do is help you get to the bottom of what’s really holding you back.  Are these practical challenges of time, money or responsibilities? Do you feel worried about what other people will think or say? Are you frightened that you might fail?

I will work with you to you test the water and take small steps.  We will explore ways to build confidence so you can start to see the barriers falling away and new doors opening. And I will be here in support when you start to step through them.  As Lao Tzu said “the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” Let’s start!
